Humble beginnings.
February to March 2013,
Feeling stifled in their current corporation Fruidian Logic, a small group of friends decide to form their own corporation. These members were Trader Antonio, brother stud, Faith Andora, Tacitus Valarius and Meeko Kusoni. These pilots would form the early backbone of the corporation and all original founders still remain in the corporation and good friends to this day.
The initial intent of The Valiant Vanguard was to support our previous corporation Fruidian Logic, by means of acting as a support corporation and passing on potential recruits from us to them. Quickly we realised our newly formed corporation was growing and strengthening far beyond our expectation. Within a couple of months we had recruited over one hundred pilots within our ranks and outgrowing Fruidian Logic.
At this point The Valiant Vanguard decided we should act more independently and no longer feed our members in to Fruidian logic, but we wanted to remain close friends and allies, which we continue to do presently.

The dark ages.
March to July 2013,
Having went out in to deep space on our own, The Valiant Vanguard spent the next months settling in to our new home system of Rand in the Highsec region of Tash-Murkon. Here we would spend our time making isk for our corporation, train our new pilots and defend in our first wars against hostile invaders.
We had many ups and downs during this teething period, with constant war declarations on us threatening to kill our members morale.
During this time we were lucky enough to have recruited some members that would become and remain an integral part of The Valiant Vanguard. Especially important at this time were the pilots, Alexandra Thiesant, Dugald Amatin, Eldrish, Enural Darhamani, Kilrathy8, Mara Jade Khardula, SawedHammer, SoulEaterZman Evans, TheScurvyDog Pwnxxorz, Z orro and many more. All of these pilots would bolster the corporation at a time when we were at our weakest and could have collapsed.
Over these first few months the founders would come to understand the huge efforts needed to keep our corporation going forward and they would excel at it.

A new Era.
July to August 2013,
Because of the influx of some key members and their commitment to help drive off our enemies and helping our corporation became no longer the pushover our enemies had once seen us to be, we garnered the attention of the large nulsec alliance The Volition Cult. This was not a negative though, as The Volition Cult CEO PBA lunax wanted us to join the ranks in their alliance. The members of The Valiant Vanguard discussed the merge amongst its members and decided it would open up many opportunities for our corporation.
Loading all our ships, modules and materials in to Freighter class ships we set sail for our new home Y-MPWL in the region of Providence. For many of our members this would be their first time in nulsec space, a lawless and cutthroat place and understandably a stressful time for some of our younger capsuleers. They needn't have worried. The corporation took to nulsec like a duck to water and we quickly made friends and learned life in nulsec and being a member of The Volition Cult was actually to our liking.
The corporation and its members had found a place that truly felt right.

Setting the bar high.
August 2013 to September 2014,
Not happy for The Valiant Vangaurd to just sit on its laurels, Trader Antonio wished for our corporation to strive to always be better and make its mark in The volition Cult, in part for our corporation development and also as a sign of appreciation to The Volition Cult. This was helped by the fact The Volition Cult happened to have one of the best Fleet Commanders in New Eden, CoreBloodbrothers who was more than accommodating in the teachings of our new members to the art of war, which put us on the fast track to improving our corporations effectiveness as a well oiled machine.
Within the first year our CEO, Trader had given the goals to have one of our members be top killer in alliance for a month, Trader himself achieved this within the first month August 2013 during the Providence/Sound war. Next was to have our corporation enter in to the top 10 corporations in the alliance, we achieved this within 4 months and within the year had made our way to the number 2 position. An impressive feat for any corporation in it's first year let alone one who happens to be in such a large alliance. Next was to kill over 1 trillion in enemy ships, we achieved this within 8 months and after our first year had killed over 2 trillion.
Activity in our corporation was excellent, morale was high and we had completed everything we had set out to do well in advance of our first year target.

Two is better than one.
September 2014 to December 2014,
Growing and developing at a fast pace The Valiant Vanguard High command looked for ways to develop further even looking for options externally. One such option was a possible merger with our fellow alliance members, BRAB0 who shared very similar ideals. noeka, the BRAB0 CEO was approached on the possibility and discussions began. It was agreed upon by both corporations High command that BRAB0 would be disbanded and all would fly under the flag of The Valiant Vanguard, with both noeka and Trader acting as joint CEO's. Not only did this increase our size to over 200 members, it would also mean the influx of some pilots who would add more skill sets, experience and humour to our corp.
Notable mentions of these new key players would be, Gooosfraba Aldent, ivan21266 WarKingdom, Lakutus Borg, Mr Mojo, Sw0rBu and of course noeka. Also around this time some members from the alliance executor corp, Volition Cult would decide to join The Valiant Vanguard, including, Kenny Powers Zanjoahir, lunafaeie and NemeSiS38. After the merge it would be our opinion that we had accumulated some of the best in the alliance and it showed immediately with our increase in alliance activity and hostile kills.
A month after the merge in October we purchased our first station in D-6WS1 in the Providence region. Another huge advance for us as a corporation and one every single member could be proud of.

Y-M Warriors emerge.
December 2014, to September 2015
After the purchase of the D-6WS1 station, The Volition Cult also started growing and acquiring new systems, this led to continuous targets everywhere and a lot of traffic traveling from the systems of Kari through Y-MPWL.
Of course this didn't go unnoticed by the members of The Valiant Vanguard
so we quickly set up shop in Y-MPWL and started to guard the gate constantly against incoming hostiles.
At first it was only the main Valva members but as we gained more notoriety we grew in numbers and in gang members. In time and because of our constant presence protecting the entry gate we had become known as The Y-M Warriors.
By the end of the summer multiple Volition Cult systems were transferred to other sov holders who would remain in Providence while The Volition Cult expanded in to the region of Catch.
The Valiant Vanguard would have to hand over our well earned station in D-6
and made the decision to change stations to Y-MPWL which was a perfect fit for us given our experience in protecting that very system and in turn made us officially the entry guards of North Providence.

From darkness to light.
September 2015 to the present
While we had become rather well known as the keepers of the Gate in Y-MPWL this role we excelled at was not to last.
Y-MPWL was the last system in Providence belonging to our alliance and The Volition Cult was keen on consolidating their new space in the region of Catch and on expanding further in to Catch. This would lead to the decision to give Y-MPWL to our fellow coalition members in Providence as a gesture of good will.
This was a decision that was not fully supported by a lot of The Valiant Vanguard as we had made Y-MPWL our home and had a special attachment to the system. Having to hand over Y-MPWL felt to most of us like losing a part of our identity as we had become synonymous with the system.
Our hearts were heavy after losing our home, The Valiant Vanguard was at one of its low points and needed a morale boost. After discussions with Trader Antonio, noeka and brother stud a plan was made to make us a new home, a better home in which to bring us back stonger as a corporation and to increase good vibes amonst our amazing members.
As luck would have it a new in-game expansion came bringing with it a new type of station, known as citadels
The citadels came and so we got to work. Costing 30 billion isk to construct all of which was donated by Valiant Vanguard members, our new behemoth of a fortizar class station was erected in the system of F9E, complete with its own defensive and offensive weaponry.
Now Valva had its home and this home had teeth.
After its completion our new station was setup close to a gate and we had strategically placed bubbles designed to drag enemy fleets to within range of its awesome firepower. In the first month after citadels were released our citadel had acquired the 3rd most kills out of all the citadels in the entire game for that month. Another boost to our corporation was that we were given another station by the The Volition Cult in the system of N-8B76, this system would eventually become the main industry system of the alliance.
Valva had put any negatives behind them and now were back in a strong position again.
